18 Sept 2000 - KUALA LUMPUR, September 18: Computing leader Sun Microsystems and e-Business solutions provider Sttarfire.com today signed an agreement under Sun's iForce initiative to provide technology support to MnEportal.com, a business hub for the mechanical and electrical industry.
MnEportal.com plans to offer its portal participants a reliable and secure virtual environment to exchange information and to conduct cost-effective business-to-business e-Commerce transactions.
"MnEportal.com will establish an online community for its members, providing them with access to valuable information, news and content so that they are able to make informed and cost-effective e-Business transactions," said Luke Long, President of MnEportal.com "This is a major breakthrough for the M&E industry as a major contributor to the country's economy," he said.
MnEportal aims to enable suppliers and buyers to have access to products, services, suppliers, news, tenders and auctions as well as useful database and links. Suppliers can showcase and promote their products and services to buyers around the world. MnEportal.com is also a single point of access for real-time information such as e-mail, news, forums, products, tenders, auction and directory to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration within the M&E industry.
