MOBITICKET
Paper
tickets will soon be a thing of the past. Like steam trains, vinyl
records, or VCR's - new technology and innovation will consign them
to history. The next evolution of ticketing will be to replace
preprinted paper tickets with electronic tickets that can be sent to
the mobile phones or wireless PDAs.
The
MobiTicket Soluton is a first-of-its-kind mobile ticketing service
that works as a Java application which can be downloaded OTA by an
SMS or WAP. The ticket can come in the form of a two dimensional
barcode or a standard, linear one dimensional barcode. The type of
barcode used is dependant upon the individual customer and the
scanning requirements but however, a 2D barcode is recommended.
The
MobiTicket, a barcode mobile ticket delivers:
|
|
 |
greater
encryption and more data capacity than traditional linear barcodes |
|
|
 |
space for
further content to be displayed within the message |
|
|
 |
in-built error
correction which allows tickets to be read from scratched screens |
The
application engages the user in a simple, interactive matter. It
prompts the customers to indicate the ticket they want to purchase
with the choice of seat from the mobile screen, enter the credit
card details for payment. The ticket is delivered in the form of a
mobile phone barcode which is read at the venue by a barcode
terminal or the ticket can be printed with relevant information such
as seat number, name, show details, etc at the kiosks.
MobiTicket
is suitable for a wide range of customers from cinema chains, theme
parks, entertainment venues, airlines, trains, buses, and even
mobile network operators to provide innovative mobile ticketing
